October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. At Keefe Memorial Hospital, we believe in the power of prevention, and we are here to support our community in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, but with early detection through regular mammograms, we can help save lives. Our radiology department is equipped with advanced technology to ensure a comfortable and accurate screening experience. If you are 40 or older, or at higher risk, it’s time to schedule your mammogram. Call us today at (719) 767-5661, opt 4, to make an appointment.

Walk for Life – October 19

In addition to offering mammograms, we are excited to host our Breast Cancer Awareness Walk for Life on October 19. This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and support the many individuals and families impacted by breast cancer.

  • Location: Keefe Memorial Hospital
  • Time: Registration begins at 8:30 AM, and the walk kicks off at 9:00 AM
  • Cost: Free entry
  • Extras: Participate in our raffle for a chance to win a gift card. T-shirts are available for purchase—order by October 4 to have yours ready for the walk. We’ll also provide water and snacks to keep everyone energized!

Let’s walk together, raise awareness, and make a difference.

Why Regular Mammograms Matter

Early detection is key when it comes to breast cancer. Mammograms can detect tumors before they can be felt, often identifying cancer at a stage when it’s most treatable. By scheduling regular mammograms, you’re taking a proactive step in protecting your health.

Whether it’s time for your first screening or a routine check, we encourage all eligible women to book their appointment this October. Our team is here to support you through every step of the process.

Join us in spreading awareness this Breast Cancer Awareness Month—schedule your mammogram and walk with us on October 19 to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and work towards a future without breast cancer.

For questions or to schedule an appointment, contact our radiology department at (719) 767-5661, opt 4. Let’s walk for life and fight breast cancer together!
