Christopher Merrick, MD is a board-certified pulmonologist, intensivist, and neurocritical care physician with a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality specialty care for patients in rural and underserved communities.
Dr. Merrick completed his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, followed by internal medicine residency at Duke University Hospital and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Neurocritical Care, reflecting a broad and highly specialized clinical skill set.
Throughout his career, Dr. Merrick has practiced across a wide range of clinical settings, including regional referral centers and smaller community hospitals. These experiences shaped his passion for rural healthcare and reinforced the importance of delivering sophisticated specialty services—such as advanced pulmonary diagnostics, critical care, and transitional care—closer to where patients live.
