Ellen Huesgen
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Therapist, Amaze Health
I work with patients of all kinds, with a focus on maternal health, grief, trauma, severe depression, setting boundaries, and supporting loved ones with substance abuse.
Listening is my greatest strength. I call my approach a grab bag. I draw from whatever a client needs in the moment, across different therapeutic methods. My work is guided by curiosity and a process I think of as dismantle and restructure, where we break down the issue together and rebuild it in a new way. I also love to use humor in my work.
I always say, "I will speak to anyone."
I have a master's degree in professional counseling from Lindenwood University, with specialized training and certifications in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grief counseling, and trauma.
My career began at an eating disorder clinic, where I spent four years. From there, I moved into community mental health for eight years before joining Amaze nearly four years ago.
What I love about Amaze is the immediacy of it. In just two sessions, you can make a real impact, because we do not wait. When a need shows up, we address it.
I believe everyone needs support, and that normalizing what people are going through is one of the most powerful ways to help. That is why I support mental health in others.
