Bronchoscopy

A bronchoscopy is a procedure that allows the provider to look directly inside the airways and lungs using a thin, flexible tube with a camera on the end called a bronchoscope. It is used to evaluate symptoms such as a chronic cough, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, or abnormal findings on a chest X-ray or CT scan. During the procedure, the provider can also collect tissue samples, clear blockages, or remove foreign objects if needed. The procedure is typically done under Conscious sedation at KMH and takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
